"In Singleness" wins 2020 Yale Glee Club Emerging Composers Competition

Swartz's original, unaccompanied choral setting of William Shakespeare's Sonnet 8 will be premiered by the Yale Glee Club when circumstances allow.

Swartz wins ChoralArt's 2019 New England Carol Contest

Arise, Arise, the Morning Bells (for SATB Chorus and Piano) was premiered during ChoralArt’s “A ChoralArt Christmas” in December 2019 and earned a reprise performance during their “An Epiphany Celebration” in January 2020.

Swartz to participate in Choral Arts Initiative's PREMIERE|Project Festival

In June 2018, Swartz will participate as one of seven Composition Fellows chosen for the 3-day festival in Newport Beach. The festival will culminate in the premiere of the Fellows' new choral works, for which they will receive a commission scholarship.

"Zueignung" receives international premiere

Swartz's choral work has received its Canadian premiere at McGill University. Swartz attended the performance in Montréal, as well as a live broadcast interview on CBC Radio.

Swartz performs at Disneyland California Adventure

Swartz has performed a Beatles tribute on-stage with Bonita Unified School District elementary honor choirs Music in Motion and Music Express.

Swartz attends recording session at Sony Scoring Stage

Swartz has attended a session at the historic Barbra Streisand Scoring Stage to record music written by Peter Boyer. Swartz assisted Boyer with score preparation for the seven cinematic cues.

"Zueignung" receives First Prize in choral composition competition

Swartz's choral work has received First Prize in the Mountainside Master Chorale's 2015 composer's competition. The piece was premiered on June 11 and 12, 2016 among other works by Southern California composers.
